In the movie Count of Monte Cristo Edmond Dantes throws a crazy party.
He enters the party like this:
Fireworks go off. Little monkey man addresses the guests and presents the Count of Monte Cristo. A hot air balloon appears in the sky. People watch enraptured as four ropes fall from the gold basket. These Indianesque acrobats slide down the ropes and lower the basket, which the Count walks out of. His cloak billows behind him as he walks down the stairs. He carries a cane and wears jewels. And then he stops on the balcony overlooking his guests and murmurs a semi-disinterested "Greetings."
I'm going to a party tonight. I think I'll shoot for that kind of entrance.
